Detailed Hotel Description
Yakinthos is a traditional hotel, which is at the prefecture of Rethymno, in a distance of 45 km from Rethymno and 43 km from Heraklion.
It has 7 residences and studios, which are fully equipped, with all the basic facilities, including central heating. Yakinthos hotel is situated on the highest point of Axon village, near the remains of the ancient town of Oaxos.
Its view from every single room of the hotel is panoramic to many villages of Mylopotamos, to the "Meteoron" of Axos, to a valley of unique natural beauty and to the sea.
The main principles of our hotel are to offer both comfortable accommodation and Cretan hospitality in a majestic natural environment.
The visitors may enjoy the unique experience of a different holiday in a quiet atmosphere, in direct contact with nature and meet some typical Cretan villagers. They may also experience the traditional customs and discover the original spirit of Crete.
They also have the opportunity to learn about the agricultural and farming activities, as well as the handicrafts of the region and taste some healthy Cretan products such as meet, olive oil, wine, sultanas, raki, olives, vegetables, fruit, milk, and cheese
The accommodation of the visitors may become more pleasant by visiting the archeologicalcites of the area. Some of these are the ruins of the ancient palace of Oaxos, the tombs of the Hellenistic period and Ideon Andron. They may also go to the caves Kamariti-Memeti and Sfentoni, to the Byzantine churches and to the deserted monastery of Halepa.

All the room remains cool even the hottest days of the summer. Also in the winter all the rooms are central heated. We wish to offer you unforgettable vacations.

Accommodation
There are three apartments available. Each of them is 75 m2 the basement is 50 m2. It consists of an undivided sitting room with
a fully equipped kitchen, three beds (there is enough space for another bed) and a WC.
An indoor staircase leads to the first floor that has another double bedroom, with a build in wardrobe and a WC.
All furniture is wooden, curved in the traditional Cretan style.
The apartments are fully equipped in electric appliances (2 TV sets, 2 telephones, 1 fridge, 1 electric cooker, household appliances).
The verandas are 25 m2 each.
There are four studios available, which cover 25 m2 each. They have a double bedroom with a build in wardrobe, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. All furniture is wooden, curved in the traditional Cretan style.
The studios are fully equipped in electric appliances (central heating, air condition, telephone, fridge, electric cooker, household appliances). The verandas are 15 m2.
Outside the residence
Trees and a green, terraced garden surround Yakinthos Hotel. A private parking site is also available for the guests.
East of the building there is a sealed oven ready to offer to the guests some delicious homemade dishes cooked in the traditional Cretan way, in combination with George's music by his tuneful mandolin. The friendly, hospitable Yakinthos' family is always ready to offer an unforgettable holiday to the quests that wish to experience the original spirit of Crete.
In the West side of the building the visitors may enjoy the breathtaking view, and the majestic sunset.
Above Yakinthos in a distance of 100 m. at a height of 750 m. there is a 400 m2. Area, where the visitor can combine adventure, strolls in the mountains and meet the Cretan nature.
Location
Leaving Heraklion you will follow the way, Gazi - Tylisos - Gonies - Anogeia - Axos.
The distance is 43 Km the street is good but with enough turns.
Beginning from Rethimno you will take the direction of national road to Heraklion.
In the height of Panormo you will follow right the street to Perama -Ag. Syllas-Dafnedes-Moyrtzana-Garazo-Beni-Axos.
The distance is 45 Km and the way is amazing.
If you want to enjoy swimming during the summertime, the beach of Panormo and Bali abstain 28 Km, and Stayromenoy 30 Km.
Bank, Post and Centre of Health, are found at Anogeia and abstain 7 Km. The academic Hospital Heraklion abstains 38 Km.
