Detailed Hotel Description
Kyknos is a 4-star Holiday Resort, situated 32kms east of the airport of Heraklion between Malia and Stalida, a place that attracts thousands of visitors every summer. The hotel is ideally located in the middle of Crete's most important points or interest. The archaeological site of Knossos, the plateau of Lasithi, the tropical beach of Vai, etc. Although it is quiet and peaceful around the hotel, one of Crete's best nightlife resorts, i.e. Malia town, is just a 10-minute walk.
The hotel consists of a main building and 6 bungalow buildings spread in the rich gardens and have altogether 134 rooms. The main building features a friendly reception area, an elegant lobby, a dining room with the veranda overlooking the pool and a main bar.
Among the main building and the bungalows you can find our large swimming pool, the 2 children's pools with the water slides, the pool-snack bar, the children’s' playground, the tennis courts, the mini golf course, the mini market and the parking lot.
The family of Georgios and Eva Tsamandouras has been running this hotel for the past 15 years and they know how to offer unforgettable holidays and unique memories to their guests!
At the pool bar we amuse our guests with various entertainment programs, such as cultural nights, BBQ's, magic shows and pool parties. There, our guests have the possibility to watch how Cretan people sing and dance and also try their selves, participate in different games, try delicious traditional specialties and much more!
Just 200 meters from our entrance is one of Crete's most beautiful beaches, where all possible water sports are available!
Our room amenities include: self controlled air conditioning system, satellite TV-Radio, safe deposit box, hairdryer, refrigerator, direct dial telephone, telephone in the bathroom, bathroom with bathtub, balcony or terrace.
At the reception desk you can have cars and bikes rented as well as organized bus tours.
Hotel Kyknos combines perfectly the high standard 4* services with the traditional Cretan family atmosphere.
There is a bus station 150 meters from the hotel, where there are buses going to Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos. Malia town is 1km away, Chersonissos is 8kms, Heraklion is 35 kms and Agios Nikolaos is 25 kms away.
In the morning we offer a rich breakfast buffet with lots of cold and warm choices. In the afternoon and in the evening you can dine in our dining room, where there are rich buffets of soups, salads, hot dishes, fruits, ice cream and desserts.
The complex also offers internet point, dining room with the terrace overlooking the pool, 2 sweet water swimming pools, 1 kiddies pool, free sun loungers and parasols, a pool/snack bar which is opened from 10:00am till late at night. Also there are 2 lifts, and a free parking lot for the guests.
Our on-site sport facilities include: 2 tennis courts (1 lighted), mini golf, billiard, table tennis, baby foot and darts. Outside of the hotel in close distance there is a wide variety of sports, from the most common ones, eg. Football and volleyball to the very special ones, eg. go-carts and bungee jumping.
Our younger guests are welcome to enjoy the water slides at the pool and their parents may relax taking advantage of our baby-sitting service!
Animation: Three times every week various shows take place in the pool area of the hotel, eg. Folklore evening, magic shows, pool parties, etc.
In Kyknos you can choose between a room in the main building or a bungalow.
In the main building you can enjoy the magnificent view of the pool and the Mediterranean Sea, whereas in the bungalows you can take advantage of the privacy, the quietness and the traditional architecture.
All recently renovated (winter 2003), tastefully decorated, 25m² in size, all rooms have WC/bath, balcony or terrace, satellite TV - radio (18 channels), self controlled air - conditioning, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, telephone in the bathroom, fridge and safe deposit box.
FAMILY SUITES:
Recently built (winter 2003), very elegant and modern, 38m² in size, with 2Separate bedrooms, large bathroom and also offer exactly the same amenities with the double rooms.
They can accommodate up to 5 persons.
