The Hotel Australia is situated in the quiet seaside resort of Ammoudara, Heraklion, Crete, just 350m from the 6km long, sandy beach, set back from the main road, opposite the Candia Maris Hotel.
Ammoudara is located approx. 4km from the Island's capital Heraklion and 7 km from the city's airport. The long, sandy beach of Ammoudara is 6km long, it runs from Heraklion to Linoperamata and with so much space the beach never feels overcrowded, even in the peak summer season.
Ammoudara is a quiet resort, yet has an abundance of shops, bars & taverns to suit all tastes. There are several pharmacies and medical centres and the local bus service to Heraklion and the airport runs every 30 mins from 6am in the morning until late into the evening, the resort also has several car hire companies.
Getting to Ammoudara from the airport couldn't be easier, with a taxi rank located immediately outside the arrivals gate, which always has taxis at hand whenever a flight has arrived, or, just in front of the airport you can catch the local bus which will take you directly to Ammoudara for just over €1euro
A short journey by bus or taxi, and you will soon be relaxing and enjoying the fabulous Cretan sunshine in Ammoudara.
The hotel is family run and English speaking, offering traditional friendly Cretan hospitality.
Hotel Australia is open throughout the summer season, from April to October.

Accommodation consists of 25 rooms over 3 floors, 6 of the rooms are studios, and the remaining 19 are made up from single, twin & doubles.
All rooms are traditionally furnished and are available with TV, they have balcony, shower & WC, most have pool and/or sea view, and for a small fee we can provide air conditioning, refrigerator, and children cots.
